LCO stands for Leyssens & Co, a company created by Jan's great-grandfather (Jean Leyssens) in 1911. Jean was among the first commercial photographers in Belgium. His son (Jef Leyssens) followed in his footsteps and added commercial filmmaking to Leyssens & Co.

Jan's father (Jacques Leyssens) and uncle (Eric Leyssens) took over the business and still operate the photo store and photo studio in their native town in Tienen, Belgium.

LCO Today

Jan continues the filmmaking tradition of his grandfather, first as a freelance director for national television, then re-establishing the now 95-year old company name and logo, and starting his own production company, LCO Productions. LCO made a very successful police series De Zware Voet, which ran for 3 seasons on Belgium's commercial network, VTM.
